I've had the opportunity to visit Notre several times back when things were open in Chicago and it is one of the most unique retail spaces in the city. Their collaboration with Nike isn't out the blue it's something that's really about of their DNA.
Throughout the pandemic we've seen Notre really go hard with their community driven business by partnering with activists and those who are helping the less fortunate in the city.
“We wanted to be a place, a business in Chicago, that could uplift individuals and organizations in the city and believe we’re making positive changes,” says Jaworowski.
For their Dunk Hi collaboration with Nike, Notre takes inspiration for the Midwest work culture. “We were always inspired by work shirts, and we wanted to make sure we represented durable materials and the triple-stitch details we associate with hard-wearing clothing and boots,” says Villanueva.
The sneaker features suede and leather details that complement the clean colorways, enriching the story and adding texture. The medial Swoosh features Notre’s “ours” — the linking hands that have become a brand hallmark. We also seen this offering on their collaboration with Vans last year.
It's exciting to see the hometown get another amazing collaboration. The Nike x Notre Dunk releases exclusively at Notre January 21 in tan and blue colorways. A second release of the blue colorway follows January 23 on SNKRS.
