The Nike x Skepta Air Max Tailwind V in the "Bloody Chrome" colorway is one of my favorite releases from this year. Even though this silhouette sold out immediately on the SNKRS app, it's still one of those that fly under the radar. Skepta isn't new to reimagining Air Max silhouettes but this one with the butterfly motif on the upper is a favorite. I've paired it with a Nike Sportswear jumpsuit and bodysuit from Zara. The sneakers were a moment of their own.

The Nike Air Max Tailwind V x Skepta

Skepta is back with another Air Max offering that ties back to the lineage of his SK Air line along with influence of growth and change in his own career with a butterfly motif across the foot of the sneaker.

“We are all going through metamorphosis, a new stage of life,” Skepta says. “We chose this butterfly print out of about 50 different options because it had to evoke the correct emotion.”

The Nike Air Tailwind V x Skepta references elements of past SK models and Skepta’s career. The chrome Swoosh references the 2019 SK Shox and the thermographic heel counter salutes his “Ignorance is Bliss” album cover. The sneaker is adorn in a beautiful ombré blue colorway. The internet is already going crazy for it’s release.

The sneaker releases April 2 in Asia Pacific, Europe and Greater China.
